Draft this kid!!!
We played up Cal WR Lavelle Hawkins during the Senior Bowl. Turns out that wasn't necessary. He's more than happy to do it himself.
Hawkins just said he's a combination of Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith and several other high-level pros. If that's true, the Cowboys should definitely try and draft him.
A player who also bring kickoff return ability, Hawkins spent most of his career in Berkeley in the shadow of Golden Bear superstar DeSean Jackson. And he says he never felt like he was in the background. If he did, he probably wouldn't be comparing and contrasting his skills to those of Ocho-Cinco and the Original 81.
"A lot of things that we do are the same," Hawkins said, comparing his game to DeSean Jackson's. "DeSean's just a little bit faster, but I'm a lot quicker than DeSean."
Here's a five-cent scouting report -- Strengths: Confidence.
