Eagles release nine; list Young as day to day
And then there were 71.
The Eagles today released nine players to reduce their roster to 71, giving them just 18 more cuts to make by 4 p.m. tomorrow, the dealine for reaching the NFL-mandated limit of 53.
Cut today were CB Jamar Wall, WR Rod Harper, DE Chris Wilson, LB Rashad Jeanty, C A.Q. Shipley, TE Cornelius Ingram, FB Stanley Havili, G Dallas Reynolds and RB Graig Cooper.
None would be considered surprises.
The team also confirmed earlier today what coach Andy Reid believed to be the case last night with backup quarterback Vince Young — that his hamstring injury is not serious and is listed as day to day. This, after having an MRI this morning.
The Eagles finished up their preseason last night, beating the New York Jets 24-14. They open their season on Sept. 11 in St. Louis.
